Prayer pays off

Well, I have been working on praying in the morning for 2 weeks now with a focus on praise and thanking God for the day as well as requesting help in getting everything done. This has been an encouraging way to start my mornings off. Amanda and I have continued to pray in the evenings for the relationship between our elders and ministers. It has been a difficult period since this summer. My part has mostly been to observe but I found I would get frustrated and angry with the things going on of which I could do nothing about. On Monday night the elders and ministers had a meeting to discuss the relationship. Unfortunately, I was not invited because the end result was openness and a great start towards reconciling the relationship. This is a joy for Amanda and me as we see and experience the body yearning for a vision and direction. We continue to encourage everyone we connect with to pray for both the elders and ministers and hear reports of them fasting and praying. I believe it is affecting our ministry and mission here in Morgantown. Excitement is building, worship is invigorating and great things are about to take place. It's sad to think that Amanda and I will soon be leaving.

There is joy in baptisms as well. Matt Spader was added to Christ last week after our supper & study. It was an exciting event as we discussed baptism and why you should be baptized. Locke explained later how it is a good thing to make baptism a public event so others witness the confession and conversion of another child of God. This has been evidenced in 4 other students thinking about their own salvation and relationship with God.

It is a joy to say that with the help of God through prayer I am fulfilling my primary goal of laying a positive foundation. God is good.
